FAQs
A chemical peel is a facial treatment that rejuvenates, firms, and plumps the skin. A chemical peel removes the outer layer of dry, damaged skin, revealing the fresh, more youthful-looking skin beneath. At the same time as a chemical peel reveals a smoother, fresh layer of skin, it triggers a boost in collagen production. Your body naturally uses this to restructure the skin, produce new cells, and diminish flaws.
There are a number of reasons people may get chemical peels. They may be trying to treat a variety of things, including:
- wrinkles and fine lines
- sun damage
- acne scars
- hyperpigmentation
- scars
- melasma
- uneven skin tone or redness
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy or skin needling, is a cosmetic procedure that involves the use of a specialized device with fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries, or tiny punctures, in the skin’s surface. These micro-injuries trigger the body’s natural wound healing process, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which are proteins responsible for the skin’s strength and elasticity. As a result, microneedling is used to improve the texture, tone, and overall appearance of the skin.
Here’s how microneedling typically works:
- Consultation: Before the procedure, you’ll have a consultation to assess your skin type and concerns. This helps determine if microneedling is suitable for you and which type of treatment may be most effective.
- Preparation: On the day of the procedure, the treatment area is cleansed, and a topical numbing cream may be applied to minimize any discomfort during the procedure.
- Microneedling: A microneedling device is used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. The depth and density of the needles can be adjusted based on the specific needs of the treatment. The device may be rolled or stamped over the skin, depending on the technique used.
- Stimulation of Collagen and Healing: The micro-injuries created by the needles stimulate the body’s natural healing response. Collagen and elastin production increases as the skin works to repair itself.
- Serums and Topicals: In some cases, topical serums or growth factors may be applied during or immediately after the microneedling procedure. These can penetrate deeper into the skin through the microchannels created by the needles.
- Recovery: After the procedure, there may be some redness, swelling, and minor discomfort, similar to a sunburn. These side effects typically subside within a few days to a week, depending on the depth of the treatment.
- Results: Over time, as the skin heals and collagen production increases, you should notice improvements in skin texture, reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, and enhanced overall skin quality. A series of treatments may be recommended for optimal results.
Microneedling is commonly used to address a variety of skin concerns, including:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne scars and other types of scars
- Enlarged pores
- Uneven skin tone and texture
- Stretch marks
- Age spots and pigmentation issues
The specific type of microneedling treatment and the number of sessions needed can vary based on individual skin concerns and goals. We’ll be happy to discuss this with you at your first appointment.
Mesotherapy is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that involves the injection of a customized mixture of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other nutrients into the skin’s mesodermal layer. This technique is used to address a variety of aesthetic concerns, including skin rejuvenation, cellulite reduction, and hair restoration. Mesotherapy is sometimes referred to as “biorejuvenation” or “biorevitalization.”
Here’s how mesotherapy typically works for various applications:
- A specialized cocktail of vitamins, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid is prepared based on the patient’s specific skin concerns and needs.
- Tiny, superficial injections are administered into the targeted areas of the face, neck, or décolletage using a fine needle or a micro-injection gun.
- The injected nutrients stimulate collagen and elastin production, improve circulation, and promote overall skin health.
- Mesotherapy can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and improve skin texture and tone.
Benefits of Mesotherapy:
- Non-surgical and minimally invasive.
- Tailored to individual needs.
- Minimal downtime compared to surgical procedures.
- Potential improvement in skin texture, reduction in cellulite, and enhanced hair growth.
- Gradual, natural-looking results.

PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma, and it is a medical treatment that involves the use of a patient’s own blood components to promote healing and regeneration. It has gained popularity for its ability to stimulate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and improve the appearance of the skin and hair.
Here’s how PRP therapy typically works:
- Blood Collection: A small amount of the patient’s blood is drawn, usually from the arm, similar to a routine blood test.
- Centrifugation: The collected blood is then placed in a centrifuge, a machine that spins at high speeds to separate its components. This process separates the red blood cells from the plasma and platelets, creating a concentrated plasma rich in platelets.
- Platelet-Rich Plasma: The resulting platelet-rich plasma contains a higher concentration of platelets and growth factors compared to normal blood.
- Injection or Topical Application: The PRP is either injected or applied topically as part of a facial or hair treatment.
Benefits of PRP Therapy:
- Non-surgical and minimally invasive.
- Utilizes the patient’s own blood, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or rejection.
- Can promote tissue regeneration, reduce inflammation, and improve aesthetic appearance.
- Generally well-tolerated with minimal downtime.
Patients considering PRP treatment should consult with us to discuss their specific concerns, expectations, and whether PRP is a suitable treatment option for them.
